Synaxis of the Venerable Fathers of Agaunum
Founded by St. Sigismund in 515, the Territorial Abbey of St. Maurice stands over the tombs of the martyrs of the Theban Legion in the town of the same name (formerly Agaunum). Common feast day of all venerable abbots of this monastery is August 1 (14).
Troparion (Tone 4): O God of our fathers, ever deal with us according to your meekness. Take not your mercy from us, but by the prayers of these saints direct our life in peace.
